🔥🌟Ilya Sutskever’s startup, Safe Superintelligence, raises $1B,
Safe Superintelligence (SSI), co-founded by former OpenAI chief scientist Ilya Sutskever, has raised over $1 billion from investors such as NFDG (led by Nat Friedman and SSI CEO Daniel Gross), a16z, Sequoia, DST Global, and SV Angel.
SSI plans to use the funds to acquire computing power and hire researchers and engineers in Palo Alto and Tel Aviv, but has not disclosed specific research areas yet.
🤖Short series app My Drama takes on Character.AI with its new AI companions
My Drama is a new short series app featuring over 30 shows, primarily in a soap opera format to engage viewers. It has launched an AI-powered chatbot to help users explore characters, increasing competition with startups like Character.AI, backed by a16z.
Developed by Holywater, a Ukraine-based media tech startup founded by Bogdan Nesvit (CEO) and Anatolii Kasianov (CTO), the company also runs a reading app called My Passion, known for its romance titles.
Since its launch in April, My Drama has quickly gained popularity, reaching 1 million users and generating $3 million in revenue.
🛠️Google tests its ‘Ask Photos’ AI assistant that understands what’s in your pictures,
Google Photos has also revamped its existing search option, allowing you to find images by describing them.
Google is testing its new "Ask Photos" feature, allowing users to explore their photo libraries in innovative ways. First previewed in May, the feature is now available to select Google Labs users in the US and enables queries like, “Where did we camp last time in Yosemite?” or “What did we eat at the hotel in Stanley?”
Leveraging Google’s Gemini AI models, the Photos app will respond based on the content of your photos and display relevant images related to your questions.
